In agriculture, sustainability assessment methods have been developing for decades, driven by demand from policy makers and consumers. Multiple tools exist for sustainability assessment that operate at different levels and have various strengths and weaknesses. In the DiverIMPACTS project, all scales are being explored, from the cropping system to the farm and value chain.
This online seminar led by Micheal Curran from FiBL, introduces farm-level sustainability assessment using the SMART-Farm Tool. The tool will be introduced, and compared briefly with similar tools in terms of applicability, indicator set, criteria covered, method etc. Then the adaptation of SMART for DiverIMPACTS will be presented and the workflow for conducting an assessment will be explained for the benefit of Case Studies interested in farm-level assessment. The online seminar will end with a brief overview of expected results delivered to CSs and to farms engaged in the assessment.
