Integrating legumes in the crop rotation

(May 31, 2018) In this video, four Romanian DiverIMPACTS project members talk about their challenges and experiences of including legumes in the crop rotation:

  • Marian Lordache, Agrototal farm, Giurgiu County, RO
  • Aurel Petrus, Ecofruct farm, Calarasi County, RO
  • Thierry Bourgoing, Vice president of the AIDER Association, Rominsem farm, Braila County, RO
  • Ion Paraschiv, Agrosud farm, Calarasi County, RO

The challenges of the legume cultivation were lack of water, lack of approved plant protection agents and the market. The farms are members of the AIDER association, which aims to:

  • avoid short rotations by integrating legumes in crops
  • study the impact of legumes on the soil
  • create market study for legumes

The video was produced by the AIDER Association.
